TPRS handles third party recoveries for several Federal Employees Health Benefits Plans, including the Mail Handlers Benefit Pan (MHBP), the Special Agents Mutual Benefit Association (SAMBA) Health Benefit Plan, the Foreign Service Benefit Plan (FSBP) and the Rural Carrier Benefit Plan (RCBP). As part of their Federal Employees Health Benefit Plan contracts with the US Office of Personnel Management, these Plans are required to initiate reimbursement efforts for benefits issued as a result of any accident, illness or injury when one of their members receives compensation from a third party as a result of the incident (i.e., auto accident, medical malpractice, product liability, etc.).
