David M. Ermer

Mr. Ermer is a managing partner of the firm. During law school, he was a member of the law review and was admitted to the Order of the Coif, a national legal honor society. Since entering private practice in 1979, he has developed substantial expertise in litigating labor, employment discrimination, and employee benefits matters at both the trial and appellate levels. He also has been responsible for providing legal counsel to ERISA-governed single-employer health and welfare plans, to jointly trusted Taft-Hartley pension and health and welfare plans, to voluntary employee beneficiary associations, and to several Federal Employees Health Benefits Plans. Through this work, he has become well versed in current topics in the employee benefits and government contracts fields. He has developed extensive expertise in government contract cost allow ability and cost accounting issues and HIPAA administrative simplification issues. He leads monthly discussion groups for Federal Employees Health Benefits Plan executives and for lawyers interested in that field. He currently maintains a FEHBlog on health care policy issues affecting Federal Employees Health Benefits Plans.
